From first grade to mochi candy: two best friends chasing one delicious idea.

  1. Small Town Beginnings

    We’ve been best friends since first grade, growing up in a small town in Upstate New York. We were always obsessed with food, even if our hometown wasn’t exactly known for it.

  2. Big City, Bigger Appetites

    Moving to New York City changed everything. We ate our way through the city, fell in love with its Asian food scene, and along the way, we became obsessed with mochi.

  3. The Mochi Idea

    Mochi ice cream became a favorite. But outside the freezer, shelf-stable mochi was still largely rooted in traditional flavors like red bean and sesame. Far from the flavors you’d expect in the American candy aisle.
